Chapter 2: Linked at the Dip

 The Chinese ambassador to Caryaland received a dispatch from from the foreign office. “The Caryaland government has decided to recognize Taiwan as an independent nation. Go and find out why, and advise them we are not happy about it”. Ambassador Chow Yun Dip finished reading the dispatch and spoke to the caddy. “Pull up the golf cart. I have to go to work”.  As he rode back to the club house he reflected on how he was a member of the only golf club in Caryanland. It was strange that no prominent citizens of Caryanland.  At the State Department of Caryanland, Chow Yun Dip met with Minister Miller. “What is this about your nation recognizing Taiwan as an Independent nation? That violates the One China policy”.  “We do not recognize the One China police. That is a contrivance between your nation and the United States. China is not Taiwan. Taiwan is not China. Chapter 1

 Secretary of State John Bohntner was called to the President’s Office. It was the Oval Office. “Hello, Mr.President. What is on the Agenda?” The President closed a folder on his desk and pushed it towards Bohntner. “The Island Nation of Caryaland has decided to halt all oil exports. You must meet with their Ambassador and sort this out.” “I have never heard of Caryaland. Why aren’t they playing ball?” “Caryaland is a 90,000 square mile island nation in the South Atlantic. They produce four percent of the worlds oil exports. The details are in the folder” Bohntner placed the file in his briefcase. “Alright. I will arrange for Ambassador Mason to meet me at the State Department”. The President sighed. “You will have to meet the Ambassador at the Caryan embassy.
